A shift to minimalist brands? - Courtesy of Good Design Daily

We thought this was an interesting visual article. Seeing the brands striped down to three basic colors/materials makes the items more about the form of their packaging rather than a decoration to catch your eye. In most of the cases I would argue that the stripped down versions seem to make the brands more reputable. This may be caused by the fact that these brands are already recognizable and no longer need to illustrate what their items do (Nutella: spread on bread, Corn Flakes:just add milk) or it may be that the seemingly simplistic designs draw the consumer in to further evaluate the item? I don't know about you but that Red Bull sounds great right now!
