Norman Residence - 2006

The Norman Residence sits across from Judkins Park in Seattle, this single family home was built on a narrow lot that once housed a dilapidated building. The design of the home is based on the the views we wished to maximize and to define public vs. private. The two volumes, one vertical cedar rainscreen (facing south) and one cement panel (westerly facing) help to define circulation and the threshold between the predominant functions of the home. Other materials include walnut flooring, Zebra wood cabinetry, plywood ceiling panels and galvanised aluminum.
